Clean and Quiet

PureCell® Systems enrich and revitalize communities by reducing greenhouse gases,
lowering air emissions and saving water, all with scarcely more noise than key strokes on a piano.

Markets

Greenhouse Gas Reduction

The market-leading operating efficiency of PureCell® Systems results in significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, the installation of one megawatt (MW) of fuel cells can save 60% more carbon per year than the equivalent installation of wind or solar energy. This is primarily because fuel cell emissions savings happen 24 hours a day; they don’t fade when the sun sets or the wind stops blowing.

Conserve Drinking Water Resources

Conventional utility power generation is one of the top consumers of fresh drinking water. In contrast, the PureCell® System does not require external water to support its operation. All the water needed is generated and consumed within the fuel cell system - a phenomenon known as water-balanced operation. The installation of a single PureCell® Model 400 results in water savings of up to two million gallons per year versus conventional utility grid-based energy.

Quiet and Clean Running

Gaseous emissions are not the only form of pollution. Noise emissions are an increasing concern in urban settings and populated areas. Because fuel cells generate electricity with no moving parts, they are extremely quiet and can be installed without concern for noise pollution
